Cultivating innovation through educationeCollege is very excited to welcome creativity expert, Sir Ken Robinson, as one of this year’s keynote speakers at CiTE 2008 “Scaling the Heights of eLearning” in Denver, March 26 – 28. Sir Ken has been engaging and entertaining audiences around the globe with his wit, warmth and vision. In his keynote, Friday, March 28, Sir Ken will explore the ways in which creative thinking can be enhanced through new approaches to instruction and learning. |
Sir Ken's core message is that the key to the future lies in new approaches to developing the creative talents of all students and employees—not just "the creatives." Sir Ken’s presentation will explain why he feels that education should do much more than train workers.
The aim of all learning, he asserts, should be the cultivation of critical thinking about life, art, culture and humanism.
Sir Ken was knighted in 2003 for his achievements in creativity, education and the arts.
He has advised international governments, Global 500 companies, not-for-profit corporations and some of the world's leading cultural organizations—Sir Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, the Royal Ballet and the New York International Arts Festival.
In 1998, Sir Ken led a national commission on creativity, education and the economy for the British government. His report, All Our Future: Creativity, Culture and Education (The Robinson Report), was received with huge acclaim.
His report prompted the London Times to remark, "This report raises some of the most important issues facing business in the 21st century. It should have every CEO and human resources director thumping the table and demanding action".
Drawing from this impressive body of creative wisdom and public speaking experience, Sir Ken is motivated to influence the world’s educators and leaders to reexamine their approach toward creativity.
Sir Ken will deliver funny, insightful perspectives toward education. This keynote address will combine Sir Ken’s core ideas with practical approaches and techniques that will help make innovation a consistent learning outcome at your institution, leading students to new levels of creative success.
