Pearson CiTE 2010 Attendees Take Away Top Education Tips and Trends

Pearson CiTE 2010 was held April 12-14 at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel in Denver, Colorado. This thought leadership event, dedicated to the use of technology in education, drew more than 350 higher education for-profit and not-for-profit professionals from around the world.

Attendees of Pearson CiTE 2010 enjoyed engaging and illuminating presentations from dynamic keynote speakers, best practice information from faculty and administrators, and new perspectives on the future of online learning that coincided with the conference’s theme, Navigating the New World of Learning.

Speakers Discuss High-Tech and Innovation Trends

Keynote speakers included Dr. Larry Johnson, CEO, New Media Consortium (NMC); Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief, Wired magazine; and Tom Kelley, General Manager, IDEO. In addition to traditional keynote addresses, the Distinguished Lecturer series hosted a collection of industry experts providing a high-level perspective of the state of education, technology and online learning to the conference this year. Conference attendees can access powerpoint presentations from the conference by requesting access at marketing@ecollege.com. $1,000 Scholarship Donations Given to Awards of Excellence Recipients The 2010 Pearson CiTE Awards of Excellence recognized outstanding accomplishments in online higher education using the Pearson LearningStudio platform. For the first time, as part of efforts to encourage and support innovations that drive student success, Pearson is donating $1,000 to each of the six winners’ institutions to the scholarship fund of their choice.
