Matthew Leavy,
Chief Executive Officer
Matt Leavy Matt Leavy joined Pearson eCollege as its Chief Executive Officer in 2007 after leading the acquisition of eCollege and currently oversees all daily operations; including new business development, account management, customer care, professional services, product engineering technology and product management across the organization. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Pearson eCollege, Matt served as Executive Vice President for Pearson Education, where he was responsible for developing Pearson’s education technology strategy worldwide. Prior to serving as Executive Vice President of the Pearson Education, Matt held the President’s position of Pearson Education’s Latin America Group and directed and transformed this region’s education business operations. He joined Pearson Education in 1995 and was responsible for mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnering activities. Matt currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Safari Books Online, a Pearson joint venture. Earlier in his career he held the position of Investment Banking Associate with Veronis, Suhler and Associates. Matt earned his bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University. He lives in Denver with his wife and two young boys. He is an avid cyclist.

Vance Allen,
Chief Technology Officer
Vance Allen Vance Allen joined Pearson eCollege in 1997 as a software engineer and helped build the company's first course management system. As CTO, Vance oversees production and infrastructure, software architecture, program administration, quality assurance and offshore development operations. He has played a critical role in leading the growth and development of Pearson eCollege's sophisticated education technology infrastructure. Prior to becoming CTO, Vance was Vice President and Managing Director of Software and Technology. Vance lives in Denver with his wife and two young children. During his spare time, he enjoys horseback riding, hiking, cycling and Ultimate Frisbee. He also coaches youth soccer.

Adrian Sannier,
Vice President, Product
Adrian Sannier Adrian Sannier is the Vice President of Product at Pearson eCollege, a Pearson Education company that creates, services and powers many of the most successful online programs globally. Prior to joining eCollege, Dr. Sannier was the University Technology Officer at Arizona State University. Under Sannier's leadership, ASU transformed its information technology operation by aggressively embracing cloud-based computing services such as Google Apps for Education and Amazon's AWS. Dr. Sannier is a Professor in the Division of Computing Studies at ASU and former Stanley Professor of Interdisciplinary Engineering at Iowa State University. His research interests focus on the application of immersive visualization and next generation human/computer interfaces to challenges in science, technology and the humanities. Before joining the Iowa State University faculty in 2001, Sannier was vice president and general manager of Engineering Animation Inc., a leading provider of 3D computer graphics software. Sannier led a group of 200 programmers and artists who created products for a diverse group of companies, from Mattel and Disney to Ford and General Motors.

Matthew Mermagen,
Vice President of Finance,
General Manager, Pearson eCollege International
Matthew Mermagen Matthew Mermagen is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and control, performance management, budgeting and strategic planning at Pearson eCollege. In addition, as General Manager, Pearson eCollege International, Matthew is responsible for supporting Pearson eCollege's new and prospective educational partners around the world as well as for supporting local Pearson business units seeking to employ eCollege in their national initiatives. Prior to joining the Pearson eCollege team, Matthew was the Finance and Operations Director for Pearson Education, Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean. During his career at Pearson, he has worked internationally in a number of business management positions. Matthew was previously with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1999.

Andrew Bergad,
Vice President, Educational Partner Operations
Andrew Bergad Andy Bergad joined Pearson eCollege in 2004 and is responsible for the day-to-day activities of Client Services, Help Desk Services, and Academic Training and Consulting. Andy leads a team of professionals who provide a host of proactive services that are based on Pearson eCollege's ability to provide key course, program and institutional-level insights for all of its Education Partners. Prior to working with eCollege, he was a vice president of finance and a strategy manager for global companies in the beverage industry. Outside of work, Andy is a tri-athlete and enjoys golfing. He is also a Big Brothers volunteer.

Scot Chadwick,
Vice President, Account Management
Scot Chadwick Scot Chadwick has been with Pearson eCollege since early 2004. He leads a team of professionals who manage Education Partner relationships by engaging with institutional leaders to develop and implement strategic growth plans. Scot manages the team's on-going training and professional development in order to maintain a broad understanding of industry trends. He and his team work with Pearson eCollege Education Partners to increase education quality and access and ultimately expand their courses and programs. Prior to joining Pearson eCollege, Scot was an account executive for Gartner, Inc., and also held management-level positions in the information management industry, working with institutions such as Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. Scot lives in Denver with his wife and three children. He enjoys fly fishing, golf, skiing, mountain biking and hiking. He is a Metro District Water Conservation board member and chair of the Pearson eCollege Sustainability Committee.

John Dobbertin,
Vice President and Director, Product and Infrastructure
John Dobbertin John Dobbertin started working for Pearson eCollege in 1998 in the quality assurance department and then moved over to start the company's systems integration team. In his current position, John is responsible for Pearson eCollege's Software as a Service (SaaS) hosting and hardware infrastructure, maintenance and security worldwide. John has presented at numerous conferences including CiTE, EDUCAUSE and WCET. He has also been asked to be part of the Ultimate Customer Panel for the Tier1 Research DataCenter Transformation Summit in Silicon Valley. Prior to coming to Pearson eCollege, John taught French to elementary students in Atlanta's inner city. As a college student, John was a Division I swimmer, three-time Academic All American, and was named Student Athlete of the Year for his University. His hobbies include fly fishing, hiking, reading, travel and wine collecting.

Michael P. Jackson,
Vice President of Software Development
Michael P. Jackson Michael P. Jackson is responsible for all of Pearson eCollege's software development, including software engineering and quality assurance. His responsibilities center around delivering more software, more efficiently and with higher quality. He also oversees Pearson eCollege's offshore software development enterprise. He has more than two decades of software development and management experience, having worked with one of the largest names in the software industry, Oracle (formerly PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards). At Oracle, Michael was a senior director within the application division for some of the company's most sophisticated products. His extensive offshore development and management experience at Oracle has helped Pearson eCollege successfully partner with a Sri Lankan development team, now Pearson eCollege Lanka. Michael enjoys golfing and skiing. Over the years, he has been active coaching youth football, basketball and baseball, and he has been involved with the community as a youth mentor and a Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He and his wife are the proud parents of two athletic children, a son who is a Junior Hockey League goalie and a daughter who is an accomplished volleyball player.
